Monte Marea

Monte Marea is a raicilla crafted in harmony with the lunar cycles and the distinct terroir of the Sierra Madre and the Jalisco Coast. This brand pays homage to the ancestral wisdom of Maestras and Maestros Raicilleras, celebrating the spirit of the agave that create a unique experience in every batch.

We designed a logo inspired by the facade signage of the cantinas and tabernas of Mexico, with intentional naïve proportions in each letter.

The brand symbol, an eye within an agave, embodies the plant's consciousness and reflects the essence of Monte Marea: the mountains of the Sierra Madre and the Pacific Sea, both integral to raicilla's origins. The agave reaching for a star symbolizes both quality and a revolutionary spirit. When integrated into a pattern, the pollinators spring tolife—a hummingbird soaring over the agaves, a bat dancing with the moon.

A WOMAN-FOUNDED RAICILLA

In addition to an earth-inspired color palette, the packaging captures the authenticity of its origin while infusing a touch of sophistication and femininity. This serves as a thoughtful tribute to the founders: Isabel Cristina Fregoso, filmmaker, and Adela Madariaga, her daughter.
