Noble Cacao

Noble Cacao

2019
Packaging
Mexico

Noble Cacao, a Bean to Bar brand that uses native original beans from the finest cacao harvests cultivated in Mexico, with artisan artful techniques.

Noble Cacao was first conceived with the idea of creating a genuinely gourmet Mexican chocolate. After visiting the cacao plantations in Southeast Mexico, Noble’s founder, Irma, was surrounded by the aromas of pineapple, banana, mango, flowers and precious woods. The murmurs of a living earth and the multicolored beauty of the cacao pods filled her with joy. Cacao had embraced her in absolute magic.

From that inspirational moment, Noble Cacao has worked to learn the secrets of how to craft the finest chocolate that honors the unique notes and taste of each hand-selected cacao grown in our incredible rainforests.

The new packaging is a reflection of the flavor intensity, unique notes, and lush origin, through the use of color cotton papers and hot stamping details. A minimal typographic approach, lets the chocolate bar be itself and breathe the finesse of the product per se. Typographic selection depicts a subtle Hacienda nostalgia.

Single Origin & Blend Series create together a sensorial map of Mexican cacao.

Ápice

Ápice

2018
Naming, Identity, Packaging
Mexico

Ápice creates beautiful handmade home accessories, inspired by Mexican traditional handcraft, with a wink to Nordic design. A curated collection of functional pieces that stand the test of time, while bringing a fresh breath of simplicity to any space.

We created the brand name, Ápice. Apex in Spanish is not only the high point but also the smallest part of something, and the punctuation detail of a letter. Ápice was the perfect portrayal of a thoughtful brand that takes care of all the fine details.

The logotype depicts a sense of natural space. The symbol is the maximum synthesis of letter A with the wordmark’s accent. The gold foil accents bring a warm and sophisticated touch throughout the stationery set. Finally, we created a series of hand-drawn illustrations, to complement the idea of taking to a home interior, something from the outdoor.

Twiggie & Rose

Twiggie & Rose

2018
Identity, Packaging
Mexico

Twiggie & Rose is a truly natural, organic & high-performance skincare, handcrafted in small batches, in Los Angeles, California. Effectively blended with nutrient-rich and anti-inflammatory oils, this facial oil is formulated to accelerate cellular turnover and clarify the skin, delivering intense hydration and defend against free radical harm.

Such a unique oil blend needed a sophisticated identity and packaging that would portrait the finesse and care considered in the rich oils. We created a bespoke serif with warm feminine highlights with high legibility. A unique box brings tactile finishes with subtle touches of rose gold foil.

All items in the stationery were considered to maximum attention to detail.

Mexico

Bright Yellow Creamery is on a mission to celebrate the simple pleasures of delicious ice cream, without compromising flavor with additives. Made in small-batch flavors and individually crafted using pure ingredients sourced from local farmers and producers. Inspired by pure flavors like vanilla, cocoa, strawberries, and even ginger.

When Steve Dorcelien, the founder of the brand, approached Menta, we felt instantly drawn by the project. Literally a treat to design for a brand of quality ice cream. A classic look & feel was created through a custom script, inspired by vintage street signs of Italy.

Casa Lupe

Casa Lupe

2018
Identity, Collaterals
Mexico

Casa Lupe is an Airbnb located in Colonia Lafayette, a hip neighborhood in Guadalajara, Mexico that gathers traditional houses of the twentieth century, as well as cafes and restaurants. The house was carefully remodelled while keeping its provincial Art Deco spirit.

A bike ride in the midst of magnificent trees streets, a casual beer or a fine dinner. A thrilling plan for a host looking for an authentic experience of the city.

Menta was commissioned to create the identity that would capture this essence. We created a wordmark with great simplicity and timeless feel. A sparrow just landing, represented with hints of an Art Deco reinterpretation, brings notalgic echoes from distant travels. We also created a series of botanic illustrations inspired by the flowers and trees of our patios, where Buganvilias, Primaveras, Jacarandas and Geranios, brighten up the city.

Casa Lupe, an identity worthy of sending a postcard from the best kept local secret.

Folio + Flores

Folio + Flores

2017
Identity, Collaterals
United States

Folio + Flores is dedicated to offering high grade organic skincare products, medicinal plants, superfoods and herbs, as well as eco-friendly items for life and home, sourced from around the world. Based in New Orleans, Folio + Flores carefully curates a constellation of brands that align in principle, feel, and effectiveness and that are in tune with the natural rhythms of life.

Many of today’s foods, beauty products, and living habits can be seen as a modern venom. We were inspired by Angitia, the Italian goddess of herbal healing, as a signpost of our inherent ability to self-heal and transform by living in harmony with nature.

We created the complete identity featuring a typographic logotype that reflects the flow of life with simplicity and finesse. A monogram signs with subtlety as the minimum expression of the wordmark. Finally, we designed the packaging for Folio + Flores signature product, Persian Rose Water, 100% certified organic.

Nu Ritual

Nu Ritual

2017
Identity, Stationery
United States

When Charles Breidinger approached Menta, to design a new line of natural soap bars inspired by French craftmanship, the brief was simple yet with a certain challenge. Made from pure natural ingredients, Nu Ritual celebrates the artisan method of soap making.

We created an identity that captures this essence through small details such as the olive branch engraving. The fine paper and printing techniques add a tactile experience through unique luxe details across the stationery set.

Nu Ritual, inspired by antique apothecary labels and modern botanic illustration.

Trasfonda

Trasfonda

2017
Identity, Collaterals
Mexico

Trasfonda is a restaurant that takes inspiration from traditional recipes of fondas. Using local and Mexican ingredients as a starting point, chef Paco Ruano, creates a menu that honours our authentic corn, the maíz criollo, reinterpreting everyday flavors into exquisite dishes with a hint of a modern cantina, where every plate is meant to be shared. In a fully renovated historic house.

A unique wordmark was custom made, to reflect hints of Mexican Revolution era, along with a set of handmade stamps that create a sense of tradition and craft. We designed a menu that reclaims the classic elegance, and translates it to a casual eatery.

Trasfonda, a well deserved place in the heart of the Colonia Americana.

Filamento is an independent workshop of luminaries, handcrafted in Mexico with traditional techniques and materials such as copper, mud, and wood. Founded by Sofía & Enrique, Filamento creates beautiful lighting designs with an eye on simplicity for the modern home, paying great attention to detail.

Menta was comissioned to create a new identity and collaterals that should feel artisan and elevated. The unique workmark was made from several ink excercises, until the correct one was achieved. A neutral typeface was selected to balance both worlds, the beautiful unexpected details of handcraft, and the perfection of a product that has been meticulously produced.
